Biography

Keri Krause received her Bachelor's degree in the Biological Sciences from DePaul University and her Master's degree in Biotechnology (specializing in Genetic Engineering) from Northwestern University. She is participating in the Humane Education Certificate Program offered by the International Institute for Humane Education in Surry, Maine. Keri works as a Quality Assurance consultant for companies serving the pharmaceutical industry.

Keri describes herself as “one of those old souls” with a great sense of humor and a childlike curiosity about the world. Others have described her as a free spirit who is always doing unexpected, spontaneous things. She takes pride in being intelligent, creative, and compassionate. Keri has always had a special bond with animals. This bond deepened after her first bird, Kiwi, suddenly died. Through his death, Kiwi helped her learn about spirituality and animal communication.

A few years ago, Keri had a life-changing illness. It taught her important lessons in balance and patience. It also shook her to the core and made her realize just how strong she really was. During this transformation, she reevaluated her life and thought long and hard about where she’d been and where she was going. She now has a beautiful sense of inner peace and calm. Keri is looking forward to teaching workshops and helping people and animals along their paths.

Keri lives in Illinois with her ever-growing flock of cockatiels and finches. In her spare time, she enjoys writing, drawing, playing video games, and photographing birds.
